SPECIAL EVENTS W.H.O. PROJECT The World Health Organization and the Government of India have chosen Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Puducherry as the centre for Oral Health Survey- 2003-2005 for the South Zone-India. The Project is a Prestigious one and the Project is to be conducted under the headship of Prof. Dr. Shyam Singh, Director, and HOD of Prosthodontics.
WHO has again awarded the prestigious project for "A Survey on Oral Health Status of Southern Area - India", to this Institute only. DEPT. OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY
& ENVIRONMENT, Dr. S. Jayaram, Asst. Professor & Head, Dept. of Microbiology has received a grant of Rs.90,000/- for conducting a Research project from Dept. of Science, Technology and Environment for the year 2005-06 to work on "Action of 0.12% Chlorhexidine on Oral Microbial flora in Periodontitis cases with and without Diabetes". Dr. G. Battacharya, Lecturer, Dept. Of Physiology has received a grant of Rs.70,000/- for conducting a Research Project from Dept. Of Science, Technology and Environment for the year 2005-06 to study the occurrence of work related occupational health hazards among the workers in various industries in Union Territory of Puducherry during the last decade. PROSTHODONTIC PG CONVENTION The VIII National Convention of Prosthodontic Postgraduate Students was held in June 2006, Around 600 delegates participated in the Convention. The theme of the Convention was "Recent Advances in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics".
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING It is proposed to enter into MOU with leading International Universities for various faculty exchange programmes. |
